Uniphy Health Recognized for Improved Care Team Communication and High Level of Interface Adoption

Company scores 7.8/9* in KLAS 2016 Secure Communication Report

Newark, NJ — Nov. 2, 2016 — Uniphy Health – a leader in mobile solutions for clinical communications and collaboration – has been recognized for accomplishments in secure messaging by the healthcare research firm KLAS. To put Uniphy Health’s achievements in perspective, in 2015 KLAS noted, “over 120 vendors … offer some sort of secure messaging system.”

The KLAS report specifically mentions Uniphy Health’s “deeper interface adoption than other standard vendors,” and places the company “on the cusp of becoming a platform vendor,” capable of offering enterprise-wide solutions integrated with third-party systems.

Many customers already use the Uniphy Health platform to support multiple applications and third-party integrations, benefiting from its easy configurability and scalability.

Along with high customer usage of EMR and critical lab interfaces – functionality that goes beyond standard communication to include exchange of sensitive data – the report also singles out Uniphy Health for its high adoption rates in desktop messaging, image sharing and communication outside the hospital.

One Uniphy Health customer interviewed by KLAS, referring to his organization’s high usage of secure messaging, said, “Over 99 percent of the texts that are sent are opened within a minute.” Another customer noted that his organization’s usage of the system was rising and stated, “We have gone from sending 185 overhead messages per day to sending 320 secure messages per day … [T]he volume of messages continues to go up every day.”

“Uniphy Health has been integral to our success for more than three years, said John Ulett, chief information officer, CentraState Medical Center, commenting on the report. “The company’s secure messaging is deeply integrated into our operations. And, Uniphy Health has built a population health feature for us, ‘Road to Wellness,’ that enables providers to direct patients to health and wellbeing services.”

In addition to awarding Uniphy Health a 7.8*/9 for improved care team communication, the KLAS report, “Secure Communication 2016: Vendors Transitioning to Secure Communication Platforms,” notes that the company’s success demonstrates that “deep clinician and non-clinician adoption can be achieved.”

Customers quoted in the report stated that Uniphy Health’s solution has made an impact by enabling clinicians to collaborate directly with one another; by connecting to third-party software, such as charge capture solutions; and by sending alerts from electronic questionnaires or billing and scheduling systems.

The report goes on to say that Uniphy Health customers “often adopted image sharing, voice message sharing, and the ability to communicate with outside organizations.” Providers note that Uniphy Health “has also deployed on-call scheduling functionality for physicians.”

Uniphy Health customers also praised the product’s deep enterprise adoption throughout their facility, the ease of use of the system, the quality of service and support and the overall high levels of satisfaction with the company and its communication solutions.

“We are proud to be recognized in this wide-ranging report. We founded our company with the mission to facilitate clinical collaboration, improve care coordination, and provide real-time communications among physicians, nurses and staff,” said Adam Turinas, chief executive officer of Uniphy Health. “Now we are rolling out the comprehensive communications platform the industry demands. The KLAS endorsement is a great honor for our organization and validates the choice our customers have made.”
