Patients’ views on their Physicians’ Digital Services [Patient Engagement Survey]
January 21, 2015 | Adam Turinas
Technology Advice recently surveyed patients on which digital services they value, and are being provided by physicians.
The survey results indicate there’s still great opportunity for physicians to improve patient satisfaction and engagement by introducing new digital services to their practice.
Key highlights include:
- Top 3 requested digital services were online test results (32.8 percent), online appointment scheduling (29.3 percent) and online bill pay (25.1 percent)
- Smartphone apps are of high importance for the young and middle aged — smartphone apps were the most requested feature for 18-24 year olds and second most requested among 25-34 and 35-44 year olds
- 68.6 percent of respondents said their doctor following up with them after an appointment was “somewhat important” or “very important”
